" I met a very wealthy man, he said to me " Mr Facey I see that you are getting involved in some major developments" and I said. " yes the country has just gone independent and I feel very bullish about it." He said, " well let me tell you something, I am doing the reverse, I'm a student of history and my experience tells me that when a country goes newly independent and power passes to unaccustomed hands the more the politicians flap their wings the worse the economy is going to get. It happened 800 years ago in England and 200 years ago in America and its going to take time for Jamaica to sort out its problems."
