Reviews
The purpose of this study was to explore the academic, social, psychological and political factors which have negatively impacted the growth and development of students with disabilities in Jamaica and to report on the expectations of these students in their pursuit of personal excellence as stated in their own reflections. This research is important from both the international and national perspectives in that there is very limited evidence that studies of this nature have ever been undertaken. This specific topic has never been addressed. Persons with disabilities are disproportionately under-represented in the mainstream of any given population and the Jamaican experience is no exception.
