The year 2010 marked the beginning of an amazing journey towards the completion of this photo essay, a companion to my 2006 publication Changemakers: 101 Portraits of Men in Jamaica.

The one hundred and one women represented in this publication are not necessarily the most influential women in Jamaica: that was never my objective. but these endearing women whom i have chosen to photograph are all bright, beautiful and bold influencers in a society stacked heavily against them, and each one has a powerfully engaging story that is sure to touch all those willing to learn from them.
