Peter Ferguson's respectful but searching lens takes an intimate look at the 101 men who have helped to define a country, and by that means shows us our own individual selves. At times very revealing, at other intimidating, these images compel us to look through the two-dimensional canvas into our own reality in the three-dimensional world. At their best, these informal portraits can leave us yearing for even more information about, and dialogue with, the men Ferguson calls the 'ChangeMakers'. At the very least, we glimpse the persons beneath the personalities, and thus sense the ticking heartbeat of a nation.
